Born on January 27, 1942, in Rosston, Nevada County, Arkansas.  Graduated from Prescott High School, Prescott, Arkansas, class of 1960. Graduated from Henderson State University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas, in January 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  Military service, United States Navy, Commissioned, Ensign Naval Officer, May 1966.  Served two years of active duty at Roosevelt Roads Naval Air Station, Puerto Rico. Aviation Ordnance Division Officer and other Collateral Duties as assigned.  Work Experience, Field property and casualty Adjuster with Allstate Insurance Company, 1970-1980.  Field Supervisor, handled major losses and supervised major catastrophe losses.  Served as an Independent claims operation and an independent Contractor, handling all types of insurance losses for major insurance companies from 1980 - 1986 in Austin and South Texas.  Total of 30 years in the insurance industry and served in Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, California, and Louisiana.

Hobbies/Interests: The American Legion, Religion, Southern Baptist, Woodworking, Building Things, Antiques, Travel, United States, Alaska, and South America. Reading, History, World War II History of Laredo and Webb County, Public Speaking, Volunteering with Civic and Veteran Organizations in and around South Texas, active in Laredo Rotary clubs and their committees.

Married to Elizabeth Anderson Alford, formally of Laredo, Texas, for the past 53 years, and have one son, married to Susanne Hansen Alford, of Laredo, and two grandchildren.
