TAMIU-School of Business

I am the Dean of the A.R. Sanchez Jr. School of Business at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU). Before my present role, I held leadership positions at the Missouri State University and Central Michigan University’s Colleges of Business for the better part of a decade. Notable experiences also included a Senior Presidential Fellowship at Central Michigan, the Management Development Program at Harvard, and a visiting scholar and faculty affiliate honorary appointment at the University of Michigan's Erb Institute.

My research has been supported by grants from the U.S. Department of Education and published in leading international business and sustainability journals. I have also contributed as a reviewer and board member of premier journals and presented my work at the top conferences of my discipline.

My journey as a practitioner began in accounting at a DuPont plant and later veered into the financial sector with roles at major brokerage firms and banks like BBVA. I've also been involved in entrepreneurial ventures and served on several nonprofit boards. These experiences have enhanced my understanding of business dynamics outside academic settings.

Extracurricular activities such as varsity football and recreational soccer, performing the lead role in a stage play, and trail bicycling have enriched my life.
