Jim Moore is married to Cathey, and they have 5 children between them with 8 grandchildren ranging in ages from 8 to 28. Jim was born at home in San Antonio, Texas, in 1943.  He is a two-time graduate of Southwest Texas State College (Texas State University) and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1965 and a Master's in Education in 1968.  Additionally, he has graduate degrees in Banking from Texas Tech, SMU, and the University of Delaware.

He retired from BBVA, the successor of LNB.  Jim had been president of three banks in Laredo, TX, during his 40 years as a banker with two previous careers, a private agricultural enterprise as the chief financial officer.  They also raised cattle, farmed cotton and sorghum, and operated a wholesale nursery specializing in palm trees. 

He was an educator right out of college and had the pleasure of teaching every grade level from pre-K to seniors in 4-year universities.  He was a college Registrar and Director of Admissions at Brownsville, Texas Southmost College.
He served as a past president of the Laredo Daybreak Rotary Club and the Laredo Chamber of Commerce.  He has been involved in many other organizations, including but not limited to Jaycees, Civitan, and Little League umpire for 25+ years.
He is a Master Mason and a 32-degree Scottish Rite Mason.

One of his proudest accomplishments was teaching over 1,000 children to swim!!!!!!!!!!
