Voz de Niños - Volunteer Coordinador

EmmaJo Robledo, currently the volunteer coordinator for Voz de Ninos, the Texas CASA organization in Webb County. I began my journey with CASA as a Court Appointed Special Advocate on November 22, 2021, after seeing the story of Emily's Dragon on my Facebook feed and doing a lot of research behind the program, I felt that the opportunity to represent the best interest of a child that has been abused or neglected is one I had to take. From my own personal experience and working with at-risk youth, the opportunity to be able to help amplify a child's voice during a time in their life when they have little control meant being able to establish a foundation of support for the children and families in Webb County that will ultimately help improve our community of Laredo. During my time with the program, I have met many wonderful children of Webb County and have combated many obstacles to permanency alongside them. As a program, we continue to look to the community of Laredo to build a network of child abuse prevention through our advocate training, donations, community events, and of course, bringing awareness to the importance of establishing support and resources to the families and children of Webb County that most needed.
